Sugar scrubs work like miracles. They make your skin feel super soft and can smell divine. Fortunately, they are insanely easy to make and cost hardly a nickel.
This peppermint sugar is just the thing for this time of year. Whether you’re making it for a friend or for yourself, this scrub will look adorable in a Mason jar with a ribbon or in a cute little bag also paired with ribbon.
This scrub is super easy to make and smells like a little bit of Christmas heaven. I want to eat it every time I get a whiff of the glorious stuff. Actually, it is edible, now that I think of it. Uh-oh! Now I am in for it.
No, Janie, no! Stop thinking! You’re not going to eat the sugar scrub. That’s just plaint weird. No . . .
PEPPERMINT SUGAR SCRUB
3 c. white sugar
1/2 c. olive oil (or melted coconut oil)
1/2 tsp. peppermint extract
Ten peppermints, grounded until very fine (like sand)
How To Enjoy (NOT “consume”!) Properly
1. Place the sugar in a large bowl. Add the oil a little bit at a time, starting with 1/4 cup, until you’ve reached your desired consistency. It should be moist, but not like soup.
2. Add the peppermint extract and peppermint “sand.” Stir until completely mixed.
3. Scrub on damp hands and then rinse off. This could also be used in the shower.
4. Absolutely love your skin. This works great in the winter months when your skin gets so dry.
