The Greatest Appetizer: Pickle & Ham Roll-Ups

IMG_2297 - Ham Roll Close

These ham and pickle roll-ups are the best. They’re creamy, crunchy, and pickle-y. They’re so so so so so so good. You won’t be able to eat just one. They’re pretty, too. Pink and green are a wonderful combination.

The Ritz cracker adds that extra crunch. If you want to be picky, you can always eat the cracker and the roll up separate. That’s only if you want to be picky, and I wouldn’t recommend it. The pickle and cracker should never EVER be separated. Even unto death they shall not part.

PICKLE & HAM ROLL-UPS

Tweaked From the Original: from my wonderful aunt

Ingredients

For the Filling:

1 (3 oz.) package of cream cheese, softened

1/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese

1/4 c. butter, softened

Ritz crackers (optional)

For the Roll-Up:

Large slices of ham

Pickles

How To Consume Properly

1. First beat the cream cheese, cheese, and butter together until well combined.

2. Spread the filling mixture onto each slice of ham about 1/4 in. thick. Line pickle(s) together to make a straight line and roll the ham over the pickle. Repeat with the remaining ham and pickles until the filling is gone.

3. Cut the pickle roll-ups into 1 in. slices and layer ontop of one Ritz cracker, if desired.

4. Serve and enter food heaven that’s on earth. Everyone who goes to food heaven with these appetizers loves it.

VARIATION:

Try using different cheeses! Pepper Jack to add more kick, mozzerella, etc.

Use the filling as a dip for pickles and Ritz crackers. An inside-out roll-up!
